Hello and Welcome to Universal Web Design!
Thank you very much for visiting! Here, the aim is to provide the necessary ideas to building your very own website, should it be for anything from personal to professional use. So, do have a look around, and please enjoy learning about whichever sort of website you're intending to create!

To manage any sort of website, you'll need to know a few basics. Anyone can learn, of course, but it's obviously best if you have most basic computer skills, such as typing and the ability to navigate programs and files. And then, of course, you need a few supplies as well - luckily, these are all available on your computer, instead of requiring a physical object (though, such objects are an option). They're compiled into the list below:
- Website editing software! From personal experience, Dreamweaver is recommended.
- A folder for all of the files! Keep images in a folder in that folder, and keep a common, simple theme to the actual file names(and don't name them with capital letters or spaces!).
- Planning space! While this may seem rather unnecessary, it greatly improves the quality of your website if you plan it out ahead, and create it with something in mind.
- CSS! The best way to keep your website consistent is through a CSS sheet that is applied to each page of the website.
- Portability! You need to be able to take your website with you. While a flash drive is a well-known method, if you're going to be using computers with Internet, signing up for and installing Dropbox would be recommended.
- A host! That is, if you plan on sending your website online. Give Tripod a go for that, it's free and easy to use.
