Sirens are beautiful half-woman, half-birdlike creatures who sang such sweet songs that listeners forgot everything and died of hunger. The Sirens are sisters who lure sailors to their death. The song of the Sirens is irrestable but, the they reside beyond unpassable reefs which destroy the sailors boat when they try to reach the Sirens.

Odysseus was one of the few men tempted by the Sirens. He escaped from them by filling his crew's ears with wax while he tied himself to the ship's mast. The Argonauts were saved by Orpheus' music.

The most recognized Sirens are Parthenope, Ligea, and Leucosia. In order, their names mean; maiden face, shrill, and white being.

One of the most obvious modernization [that has been around for centuries] are sirens. Sirens that make a noise heard by whom ever needs to hear it [like fierfighters] so they can become aware they're needed.

Also, the modern siren is a woman who hunts out men with various incomes and occupations to seek physical pleasure and use their money at their expense. They are selfish and marriage is used soley to gain money. The modern siren has husbans all over the country and any child she may bare that she lets live is put into and orphanage.

Personally, I'd prefer just gettin ship wrecked.
