Poseidon is the last son of Cronus and brother of Zeus and Hades. He is the God of the sea and the protector of the waters.When he faught with his bother for shares of the world, he was rewarded the sea. He married Amphitrite, the grandaughter of the Titan, Oceanus. Poseidons weapon is a trident, which can move the earth, and shatter any object. He is second only to Zeus in power. He has a difficult argumental personality. He used ot be greedy and has had a series of disputes with other gods when he tried to take over their cities.

Also, many of the animal exist because of Poseidon trying to please. Demeter by making a horse -- the most bveautiful creature -- and before it was created, Poseidon made many mistakes thus, the sea creatures were made.

Most recently, the movie Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Theif deals with Greek gods, mainly poseidon. The main character, Percy Jackson, is the son of Poseidon and he has to try to find Zeus' lighnig bolt that was stolen by other gods. Other companies that use Poseidon's name for its symbolysim; Poseidon Seafood is a national brand of seafood products. Neptune, the Roman name, is often also used by companies, as in Neptune Fresh Lobster Co.
